Natasha Boratzuk, winner of the $7,500 Pentel of America, Ltd. Scholarship honoring Toshiyuki Horie, was born in Maracay, Venezuela. In 1999, her family moved to the United States. She was able to learn a new language and make new friends in Miami, Florida, quickly becoming one of the best students in her high school. While at Miami Coral Park High School, she received awards in Physics, Business Skills as well as the Florida Merit Award. Based on her academic performance, she was accepted into Florida International University, where she began studying Computer Science, later changing her major to Management of Information Systems and a second major in Marketing. She is also enrolled in the Florida International University Honors College.
Natasha is currently a member of many Honor Societies, including: Gamma Epsilon Phi, FIU National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), Golden Key Honor Society and the Honor Society of Beta Gamma Sigma. Throughout her academic career she has received many awards, including the Dean's List and National Dean's List.
Natasha has worked as an Administrative Secretary for Variety Sales Company in Miami, FL, updating the company's website, translating documents from Spanish to English and vice versa, updating customer data and preparing paperwork related to export merchandise as well as providing technical assistance. In the spring of 2005, she began an internship as a Business Analyst at Sony Latin America, collecting data on company performance, preparing reports and conducting market research. Her hobbies include Flamenco dancing, reading, writing and painting.

Jaime Thompson, winner of the $5,000 OPWA Scholarship in honor of David Anderson of Richards Pen Shop, is a 2005 Honors graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School in Illinois. She will begin her college career at Michigan State University this fall. Raised by a single mother, Jaime has always excelled academically, graduating from high school a semester early in order to work full to and save for college expenses. In addition to her outstanding academic record, Jaime has been involved in the Salvation Army's soup kitchen program and benefit walkathons. Jaime's uncle, John, is employed by Tabbies in Itasca, IL.

Elizabeth Londoner is a second-time winner of the OPWA Scholarship. She is a sophomore in the Honors College at the University of Vermont, majoring in English, with a possible double minor in political science and Italian language. Elizabeth is on the Dean's List for the second consecutive semester and was awarded the Cultural Advocate of the Year Award for her work on the Council for Unity chapter at UVM. Her father, Howie, is employed by Alexander Supply Company.

Cordera Mitchell plans to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta where he will develop his gifts of writing and drawing. Upon completion of his studies, he hopes to pursue his interest in public speaking and animal care at the University of Georgia. His mother, Joann, is employed by United Stationers.

Adrianne Ostrom grew up on a livestock production farm in Illinois. She was an Illinois State Scholar and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Bond County Community Unite #2 High School. She has been active in FFA and 4-H, serving numerous officer positions and attending conferences. She is currently a senior in Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been involved in the American Society of Agricultural Engineers and the University of Illinois Collegiate 4-H Club. In the fall of 2004, she initiated and formed the University of Illinois Water Environment Association Student Chapter. Following graduation, she plans to pursue a Master's degree and/or work for an engineering consulting firm. Her mother, Diane, is employed by United Stationers Supply.

Amanda Sem will begin her freshman studies at Minnesota State University in Moorhead, MN this fall. In addition to being a straight "A" student throughout her high school career, Amanda was captain of the Great Speeches and Dramatic Duo, as well as serving as a Varsity cheerleader for four years. Amanda's father is employed by Imation.

Jaspreet Singh, a two-time recipient of the OPWA Scholarship, will begin his second year at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with plans to matriculate to the UIC Pharmacy School in the Fall of 2006. In his spare time, he volunteers at the James B. Jordan Boys and Girls Club, tutoring youngsters in math and science. His mother, Paramjit is employed by Fellowes Manufacturing in Itasca, IL.

Nicole Foster resides in Sherburne, NY and is currently a sophomore Physical Therapy major at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. She graduated fourth in her class at Sherburne-Earlville High School, receiving a Regents Diploma with Honors. She plans to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Health and Science, minoring in Psychology, ultimately receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Her parents, Dale and Margaret Law, are employees of MeadWestvaco in Sidney, NY.

June McLeod is currently attending the University of Phoenix/Atlanta. She has been employed by United Stationers Company for thirteen years. Active in local community organizations, she is a member of the Atlanta Humane Society. Her hobbies include interior decorating, gardening and walking. Following graduation in 2007, she hopes to continue her employment with United Stationers as an account manager.

Anne Stav is currently a second-year law student at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a career in patent law. Anne is involved in several extracurricular activities, including the Student Bar Association and the Second Career Society. She is also a member of the American Association of University Women, the American Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association. She is employed at Imation Corporation in Wahpeton, ND as a chemical engineer.
